SHAWN WELLING
Host of The Shawn Welling Show
America’s Titan of True Stories
Shawn Welling is a Houston-based filmmaker, director, interviewer, and storyteller whose career has been built around one mission: finding the human truth inside extraordinary events.
Before launching The Shawn Welling Show, Welling spent decades behind the camera directing feature films, shorts, web series, and documentaries through Welling Films. His work began in dance and visual performance, but evolved into a life of cinematic storytelling—capturing real people, real tragedy, real faith, and real hope.
THE FILM MAKER
As a documentary filmmaker, Welling is known for entering deeply personal stories with patience, emotion, and respect. His award-winning documentary The Messenger: 360 Days of Bolivar followed lives changed by Hurricane Ike. Alive: A True Story of Hope explored the journey of childhood cancer survivors who were given a second chance at life. His feature documentary River of Angels gave voice to the survivors, families, first responders, camp children, RV park families, and citizens of Kerr County after the July 2025 Central Texas floods.
Welling’s documentary and film work has earned recognition from Houston, Cannes-connected festivals, Rome, Paris, India, Canada, and other international festival circuits. Across his career, his projects have been honored for documentary filmmaking, inspirational storytelling, directing, audience impact, and emotional truth.
Through hundreds of interviews across his films, Welling has developed a rare gift: allowing people to speak from the heart while preserving the dignity of their story. His interviews are not built around headlines. They are built around testimony, memory, faith, loss, courage, and the moments that change a life forever.
The Shawn Welling Show: America’s Titan of True Stories continues that mission. Each episode brings viewers into the kind of conversations Welling has spent his career earning—honest, emotional, cinematic, and rooted in truth. From survivors and heroes to artists, families, leaders, and everyday people who lived through extraordinary moments, Shawn Welling sits down with the voices behind the stories America needs to hear.
